About Us

Krafty Kids was set up by Dena Watson in Arundel in the summer of 2008 and it’s popularity grew very quickly and has now expanded to the Chichester area.

The Krafty Kids ethos is to, “encourage and nurture children’s ideas, awakening their imaginations and provide an environment that gives the children the freedom to express themselves through art and craft”

Each workshop has a new project theme for children to get involved in, mostly they run for 3 hours allowing the children to take part in the whole process of the art work, from beginning to end and take home their work on the same day. Dena loves nothing better than to introduce new learning opportunities to children, without a fixed opinion, keeping their minds open like sponges, rather than telling children, this is how it should be. Krafty Kids have explored artist such as Picasso and Van Gough and future projects will include the wacky world of Andy Warhol and Damon Hurst.

During the workshops Dena introduces drama activities and games. This helps the children to form quickly as a group, getting to know each other and to feel confident to share ideas with each other and to help everyone around them. This is really good for the children and is making a difference to the children’s approach to their art work. Krafty Kids is for children aged 3 years and upwards and the workshop projects are designed to be age and development stage appropriate.

Dena has over 15 years experience of working with children, giving her the skills and qualities to bring the best out of them. Her wealth of knowledge and experience makes Dena a safe and inspiring mentor. All the staff that work for Krafty Kids are amazing, they are always more than qualified for the role in terms of experience and qualifications and all staff are CRB checked. Very often Daniel Watson (Dena’s Hubby) is found to be taking part at the workshops, he is a very experienced teacher and great with all children, very often being highly entertaining for all who attend the workshops.

ENJOY!
